Microsystem Technology group at Aalto University Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation is looking for three doctoral students with full funding for 3-4 years to work with the evaluation of the electrochemical performance of carbon nanostructure electrodes in biological environment. It is also possible to start as a Master’s thesis worker (limited to 6 months).
We offer a doctoral student position based on a 1+2+1 years contract. Our target is that you will acquire the doctoral degree in four years. The salary is determined based on experience and qualifications according to the salary system of Aalto University. The contract includes occupational health benefits and Finland has a comprehensive social security system.
The research group is developing carbon nanostructure based electrodes for the detection of neurotransmitters in physiological environment. As a successful applicant, you should be highly motivated in experimental science and have studies in biomedical engineering, biosciences, chemistry, physics, materials science, or a closely related field. Depending on the candidate, the focus can be more in 1) electrochemistry, 2) materials science or the 3) biological response of the electrode materials.
