Physics Lab Instructor Full-Time Position

This position will report directly to the Dean of College of Arts and Sciences.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  1. Teach physics lab courses, in support and under supervision of faculty. 
  2. Set up equipment and material for lab sessions. 
  3. Prepare and maintain documentation of lab inventory of equipment, materials and supplies.
  4. Arrange purchase orders for lab material and supplies, and lab budget. 
  5. Prepare and maintain documentation of all lab protocols and procedures, and safety rules. 
  6. Attend technical and lab safety training as deemed necessary. 

EXPERIENCE, SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Master’s degree in physics from an accredited college/ university.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience post-secondary in a college/ university setting. 
  3. Familiarity with lab safety rules. 
  4. Familiarity with American system of higher education. 
  5. Ability to work and coordinate with faculty and other lab instructors as member of a team. 
  6. Ability to interact effectively with students, supervise and guide them in the lab.
  7. Strong computer skills, English communication skills, and good time management skills.
