FOR ROTOR BLADE TESTS

The Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology IWES Northwest covers applied research and development for the complete wind-power value chain. Its particular strength lies in the combination of a worldwide unique test infrastructure with extensive expertise in reliability and validation. With more than 250 employees and students at its headquarters in Bremerhaven as well as at its branches in Hanover, Bremen and Oldenburg, IWES Northwest serves national and international clients. We are currently looking for a candidate to fill the above vacancy in Bremerhaven, Germany, at the next available opportunity.

What we expect from you
For this interesting and varied position, we expect a degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engi­nee­ring with a specialization in measurement technology, control engineering, or automation technology. Fundamental skills in Basic are a prerequisite, as is experience in the field of measurement technology, sensor technology, and quality control. In addition, experience in the use of HBM Catman AP and CODESYS is desirable. Moreover, we expect competence in the use of Microsoft Office. Since IWES works variously at an international level, we require a good command of English. Your profile is rounded off by an exceptional degree of readiness to find your feet in a variety of fields as well as a high level of self-motivation and creativity, plus excellent communication skills.

What you can expect from us
The group »Full Scale Blade Testing« focuses on the performance of tests on the large components and rotor blades of wind turbines. Your duties will encompass the performance and evaluation of static and cyclic rotor blade tests for blades up to 90 meters in length as well as the accompanying non-destructive tests. Above all, this concerns the independent planning and preparation of measuring campaigns, the further development of existing measuring technologies, and the development and procurement of new measuring methods. You will cooperate closely with other research institutes and industry players in the scope of national and international research projects.

Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD). Additionally Fraunhofer may grant performance-based variable remuneration components.
The working time consists of 39 hours per week. 
The position is initially limited for 3 years.
