Project Manager and Communication Officer

Coordinate and support the international projects of the Photonics Research Group at imec/Ghent University

What you will do

The Photonics Research Group at IMEC/Ghent University is responsible for coordinating several Horizon Europe research projects. In these projects novel photonics systems are developed with many European partners. These projects aim to make a new generation of optical chips for the next generation of sensor products. Here, one can think of miniaturized lab-on-chips, but also complex chip scale medical instruments such as optical coherence tomography systems. Apart from the pure research effort in enabling these applications these projects also need to be managed administratively. For these reasons the research group is looking for Project Manager and Communication Officer, who:  

• Will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project,
• Will communicate with the partners of the project
• Will communicate important project results within the project to the outside world
• Raise awareness of project results with the general public
• Will setup the meetings with the project partners
• Communicate with the European Commission
• Follow up on project deliverables and milestones

Who you are

• You have a master degree.
• You have excellent social skills, and you are open to collaborate and interact with a large range of people (academics, industrials and general public)
• You are fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is appreciated.
