Research Scientist in Visual Analytics/Information Visualization

Applications are sought for a research scientist position in the field of Information Visualization and Visual Analytics at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), affiliated with Red Sea Modeling and Prediction Group led by Professor Ibrahim Hoteit. The research scientist will work in collaboration with other researchers in the group to contribute to the development of visual analytics-based dashboards to cater the needs of the new Climate Change Center, supporting the needs of KAUST and industry partners. This will require close collaboration with domain scientists within the team to architect solutions to support the interactive exploration and visualization of large scientific datasets on a variety of platforms.

• Ph.D. Degree in Computer Science or a related area (with a focus on information visualization or visual analytics) required with demonstrated relevant expertise.
• Knowledge of information visualization techniques, visual analytics dashboard design, and infographic interactive displays
• Demonstrated experience in visual analytics or information visualization application design and implementations using visualization tools and libraries.
• Demonstrated track record of publications in visualization journals and conferences.
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
• Experience working in an industry research setting is a big plus.
