The Department of Nursing and Health Promotion at the Faculty of Health Sciences is looking for a suitable candidate to take up the position of professor of paediatric nursing and start in the position as soon as possible. The professorate is a permanent full-time position.
If no applicants who are qualified for appointment as a professor apply, an applicant may be appointed to a temporary position as an associate professor on the condition that he/she qualifies for a professor position within three years. We encourage paediatric nurses with a doctoral degree and project experience to apply with a view to getting publications/expertise assessed for promotion to professor.
The position comprises close collaboration with the other master's and further education programmes within the programme coordinator area 7. The programme coordinator's area of responsibility covers master’s and further education in paediatric nursing, anaesthesia, intensive care nursing and theatre nursing, and a bachelor’s degree in paramedics. The candidate, together with the other academic staff that fall under the programme coordinator's area of responsibility, will be responsible for teaching and conducting research within the field of acutely and/or critically ill children and their next of kin. This also comprises own research and supervision of students within the field. Furthermore, the candidate commits to take part in administrative work.
Extensive research activity is conducted at the department, which has many research groups. The Faculty of Health Sciences has two PhD programmes.

Good collaboration and communication skills will be emphasised. Emphasis will also be placed on personal suitability and motivation for the position.
If you do not master Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, you must undertake to acquire such skills within three years.
Importance will be attached to documented teaching qualifications and experience. If you do not have relevant teaching qualifications, you must undertake to complete the university's basic teaching qualification programme (15 credits) within two years.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the pay scale for state employees: 1013 (professor) NOK 695,500–893,900 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
