PhD on Urban energy system modelling
30 hours/week
At the Institute of Architectural Science, in the Research Unit of Building Physics and Building Ecology, we are offering a doctoral project assistant position (Prädoc 30h/week) with a projected start date of January 2025 or later.
We are looking for a motivated candidate to strengthen our scientific team for the Pol4PED (Crafting Policies for Positive Energy Districts) project. Positive energy districts (PEDs) are gaining momentum as solutions to decarbonize urban environments. To facilitate the wide rollout of PEDs, the Pol4PED project aims to design targeted policy mixes, tailored to diverse European urban contexts, with a focus on existing urban districts and regeneration. The goal of this PhD project is to advance modeling tools to comprehensively analyze the techno-eco-nomic aspects of Positive Energy Districts for the city of Vienna and define interfaces with the socio-economic and policy dimensions together with project partners.
