Programme Coordinator

The Swiss School of Public Governance (SSPG) at ETH Zurich is a centre of excellence for interdisciplinary education and research in governance and public management. As part of the Department of Management, Technology and Economics (D-MTEC), it delivers continuing education for professionals in public administration, NGOs, and international organizations. With a strong focus on higher education management and translational research, it combines Switzerland’s governance expertise with global perspectives.

We are looking for a Programme Coordinator to help design, organize, and deliver impactful learning experiences for leaders in the public and non-profit sectors through our growing portfolio of continuing and executive education offerings.

The position is initially limited to one year (with the potential to become permanent) and available from from 1 August 2025, or upon mutual agreement.

Job description

As Programme Coordinator, you will oversee the effective delivery and continuous development of our continuing and executive education portfolio—particularly the CAS in Public Governance and Administration—managing key aspects of the programme lifecycle, from preparation and delivery to evaluation and improvement. You will also contribute to the design and implementation of new initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the planning, delivery and further development of the programme curricula, especially the CAS in Public Governance and Administration
    • Maintaining relationships and communication with a range of stakeholders, including faculty, students, alumni, donors, external partners, and prospective participants
    • Managing application processes and general study administration
    • Organising the logistical aspects of programmes and events (e.g., room bookings, catering, invitations)
    • Monitoring programme-related finances
    • Identifying and implementing AI- and digitally enabled improvements to current processes (e.g., scholarship applications) for greater cost-effectiveness and user experience
  • Leading communication and marketing efforts, including website and social media content, campaign planning, and the production of promotional materials
  • Contributing to the conceptualization of new continuing education activities
  • Providing administrative support to the school management

Profile

  • You hold a degree from either a university or a university of applied sciences, ideally in public or non-profit management, social or political sciences, or a related field.
  • You have experience coordinating education or study programmes, preferably in a higher education environment.
  • You have a strong interest in Switzerland’s public and non-profit sectors, especially in higher education.
  • You are motivated by topics such as public management, governance, and administration, and eager to contribute to impactful continuing education.
  • You demonstrate initiative, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • You are service-oriented, with strong interpersonal and communication skills for effectively working with diverse stakeholders.
  • You are confident in managing digital communication channels, including websites and social media.
  • You are fluent in German and English, both written and spoken; a good command of French is an asset.
