Professor of Medicine / Preclinical Sciences (m/f/d) Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry

Pioneer Education is seeking on behalf of a client in the higher education sector, outstanding candidates for the position of Professor of Medicine / Preclinical Sciences with a special focus on Anatomy, Physiology, and /or Biochemistry.

Our client is an internationally oriented institution of higher education located in the Potsdam/Berlin metropolitan region of Germany. Teaching is predominantly conducted in English within an international and interdisciplinary academic environment.

This position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced academic and professional leader to contribute to the development of innovative, AI driven and practice-oriented study programs, modern teaching concepts, and interdisciplinary collaborations at an early stage of institutional growth.

The position is intended as an on-site appointment in Potsdam, Germany, and is a predominantly teaching-focused position with a smaller share of research.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate should be able to comprehensively represent his/her respective field in both teaching and research.

Applicants should demonstrate expertise in the application of artificial intelligence and digital technologies within healthcare and medical education.

Additional responsabilities include:

• Participation in teaching and research collaborations 
• Contribution to academic self-governance and university committees 
• Assumption of leadership responsibilities within the academic environment 
• Collaboration with colleagues across disciplines and departments 
• Development and delivery of courses and examinations in English 
• Supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses 
• Contribution to the further development of innovative and interdisciplinary curricula 
• Support for international partnerships and academic projects 

Qualifications

Applicants are expected to possess:

• A master’s degree in biology, health, medicine, biomedicine or related sciences
• A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or equivalent academic qualification in a relevant discipline 
• Demonstrated aptitude for academic teaching, preferably in multicultural and international settings 
• Outstanding achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods 
• At least three years of professional experience, including a minimum of two years outside academia 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a collaborative and interdisciplinary mindset 
• Fluency in English (C1 level) ; additional German language skills are considered an advantage 
• Experience with innovative, digital, and practice-oriented forms of teaching and learning is highly desirable 

Particular interest will be given to candidates whose work connects medicine, healthcare practice, and emerging digital or AI-driven approaches relevant to the medical professions.
