UniDistance Suisse offers fully online university degree programmes and is accredited under the Swiss Higher Education Act (HEdA). It combines flexible, location‑independent part‑time distance learning with an active, interdisciplinary research culture on its campus in Brig. Across five faculties – Law, Psychology, Economics, History, and Mathematics & Computer Science – we have been shaping modern teaching, learning and research for more than 30 years. Today, UniDistance Suisse counts over 2,700 students and around 550 staff members.

To strengthen our recently founded Grants Office, we are seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking professional for the position of: 

Grants Office Advisor (70-100%)

Place of work: Brig 
Start date: 1 November 2026 or upon availability

As the central point of contact for all matters relating to the acquisition of third-party funding, you will help researchers at all career stages to find suitable funding opportunities, advise them on the application process and support them in the administration of ongoing grants. 

Your responsibilities

  • Inform, advise and administratively support researchers in the acquisition of third-party funding and the use of internal research funds. Closely cooperate with the Finance department pre- and post-award.
  • Contribute to acquisition, processing and dissemination of relevant information to different target groups via different channels. Reach out to experts and networks where indicated, connect to regional and national stakeholders; organise information events.
  • Support the young Grants Office in administrative and procedural matters; support setting up of new and streamlining of existing processes; contribute to envisioned digitalisation of existing processes as well as the maturation and scalability of research advising services.
  • Career services: define scope and services as well as structural and operational steps.

Your profile

  • Academic qualification: Doctoral degree (or equivalent experience in a research-intensive environment), ideally in one of UniDistance Suisse's research areas.
  • Experience in the higher education sector, specifically in the field of competitive funding acquisition, funding policy and strategy.
  • Skills: Analytical thinking, strong organisational skills; service-oriented mindset; team player with good and clear communication skills; initiative and dare to do; stress resistant in busy periods. 
  • Languages: Fluent in spoken and written English; excellent knowledge of German or French with good knowledge of the other language.
