The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Graz comprises the disciplines of geology, petrology and geochemistry, hydrogeology as well as paleontology and stratigraphy. We thus cover a broad spectrum of earth science research topics, dealing with"Biodiversity and Evolution","Climate and Environment" and the"Dynamics of the Solid Earth" and offering a holistic understanding of earth system processes. From the processes that we reconstruct from the past, we can create models for the future development of planet Earth.
