About the FSTM

The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.

The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.

Your role

EVITA is a Horizon Europe strategic project with the mission of creating a sustainable and dynamic EuroHPC Virtual Training Academy that empowers learners, educators, professionals, and researchers across Europe in the multidisciplinary field of HPC, including related areas such as emerging technologies and their cross-cutting dimensions. The vision for EVITA is a thriving European HPC ecosystem where knowledge knows no boundaries. The EVITA consortium's primary objective is to establish and maintain the EuroHPC Virtual Training Academy with a robust governance structure, high-quality training and learning materials, and a sustainable plan. FSTM's main tasks are to contribute to the definition of the body of knowledge and competencies, assist in developing the skill tree used as a foundation for the Competence and Qualification Framework and contribute to the survey of the STEM curricula landscape to align the qualification scheme with existing programmes at all universities. FSTM will also work on establishing a standardised pedagogical approach and designing a training module format, developing and executing modules within the consortium to pilot and verify the set-up process.

Your responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design, development, and evaluation of EVITA training programmes and micro-credential courses within the project
  • Conduct research on the integration of EVITA relevant areas education and skills development in sector-specific contexts (learners, educators, professional researchers across Europe)) :
    • Identify needs of the different sectors and develop concepts for each community
  • Collaborate with academic and industry partners to align training content with real-world applications and labour market needs
  • Support the development of pedagogical content for the EVITA training academy
  • Participate in project meetings, hackathons, workshops, and public engagement events to help transfer knowledge and foster community interaction
  • Communicate and be the contact point to and for the project partners and coordination
  • Analyse trends and emerging practices in education, talent development, and lifelong learning relevant to the HPC field and related areas
  • Contribute or write scientific publications, reports, deliverables and communication materials related to the project
  • Assist in supervising students and coordinating collaborative research and training activities
  • Manage project reporting together with the Reseach support team at the faculty

Your profile

  • PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Educational Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Solid research background in one or more HPC domains, with an interest in interdisciplinary and applied research
  • Experience in developing or contributing to educational content, online training materials, or academic courses
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to engage with stakeholders across academia, industry, and policy
  • A track record of publications in relevant fields; experience with European research or education projects is an advantage
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, multi-partner team.
  • Experience with EU funded projects is of advantage
  • Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of French or German is considered a plus
