The Institute for Cellular Biochemistry and Genetics (IBGC - UMR 5095) is a research center dedicated to basic research in biology and located on the Bordeaux Life Sciences campus. It is placed under the dual supervision of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique and the University of Bordeaux, and has a direct access to the high-end mutualised equipments of the technological platforms of the area. The IBGC research teams are engaged in studying the cellular functions through experimental models as varied as yeast, fungi, mammalian cells and, more recently, drosophila and nematode. The methodologies and technologies used are very different and include structural biology, photonic and electronic microscopy, analytical biochemistry and molecular genetics.
