Within AccentVV, your main assignment will be to conduct a doctoral research in the field of oncological care. With the TRANSFORM project (transmural follow-up care after cancer), we will focus on the development and implementation of a transmural care model for nursing care after cancer. Based on international best-practice examples and with the participation of patients and care providers from the hospital and primary care, we will develop a care model for nursing follow-up after cancer in primary care. Next, we will focus on implementation: we will develop an implementation plan to meet the barriers and needs of nurses in hospital and primary care to provide transmural follow-up care. We will then implement and investigate the effects of a nurse-led transition.
You will - under guidance and supervision - take the lead in the preparation and execution of the studies, the analysis and interpretation of the data, the publication of the research and the dissemination of the results to a wider audience. You are also involved in the funding application for (part of) the research project.
As part of your research project, you will also be involved in improvement initiatives around survivorship care from UZ Leuven and the Cancer Care working group of the LKI (Leuven Cancer Institute) and in education such as (co-)supervision of related master's theses in (among others) the Master in Nursing and Midwifery.
