Valencian Foundation for Excellence in Research (ValER)

ValER, the Valencian Foundation for Excellence in Research (La Fundación de la Comunitat Valenciana de la Investigación de Excelencia) was created by the Generalitat Valenciana in 2021 with the purpose of strengthening the Valencian science system attracting and consolidating top researchers worldwide.

In the current context of science, marked by a competitiveness which is necessary to achieve excellence and to respond to the existing problems in our society, ValER proposes new forms of recruitment capable of competing with research systems in other countries and thus attract highly skilled scientific and academic professionals. To this end, ValER offers permanent contracts to researchers from all over the world to develop their professional careers in the Valencian Community. These contracts will be covered through public competitions on an international competitive basis, in which the evaluation criterion is research excellence.

ValER is an open institution that will work hand in hand with the Universities and Research Centers of the Valencian Community and will integrate its research professionals into the Valencian research system.

With the creation of ValER, the Generalitat Valenciana complements the talent attraction policies that it has been developing through programs such as the GenT Plan and the recruitment of young researchers with an internationally recognized trajectory. This type of initiatives serve to strengthen our science and research system, a high priority objective of the Valencian government at the present time.
