YOUR TASKS
- At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research in the field of plant pathology.
- You will assist in teaching activities and/or co-teach at the bachelor’s or master’s level in the field of plant pathology
- You will supervise students in the context of exercises, internships, bachelor’s and master’s theses
- You will supervise PhD students
- You actively participate in facilitating the merging of two research groups conducting research in plant pathology.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You hold a doctoral degree (PhD) in Bioscience Engineering or an equivalent qualification. The degree requirement needs to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment.
- For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted
- You have already conducted research within the field of plant pathology
- You have distinguished yourself as a promising researcher in your doctorate
- You have experience and a keen interest in supervising students in academic training.
- You have relevant scientific publications in (inter)national peer-reviewed academic journals that are widely disseminated
- Being able to demonstrate active participation in conferences, symposia, and workshops in the field is an asset.
- You have a service-oriented mindset
- You have a good command of Dutch (C1 level).
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a temporary appointment for a period of 2 years. The appointment cannot be renewed
- Even if you have already been appointed earlier (whether or not at another university and whether or not in the same field of discipline) in a first term of up to 3 years, you can apply. The second appointment does not have to be immediately connected to a first term
- Your appointment will start on 1 October 2026 at the earliest
- Your remuneration will be determined according to salary scale AAP5. More information about our salary scales
