Responsibilities

Study coaching of (national and international) incoming bachelor students at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) entails the following:
  • In the role of study coach, you will help students, primarily in the first year of the bachelor's program, to process the subjects 'Accountancy', 'Banking & Finance' and 'Economics'. The exact courses you will be supporting depend in part on both your preference and the campus of (main) employment. You can indicate any preference in your application.
  • Within a teaching team, you will use your extensive subject-specific and teaching expertise to teach current and incoming students in a customized learning environment. You will be responsible for tutorials and other study sessions, during which the subject matter will be reviewed and practiced.
  • You develop a range of supply- and demand-driven study guidance and learning process guidance/coaching of (incoming) students, in interaction with the other FEB campuses and other service providers.
  • You receive students with individual questions, both in terms of content and study skills (method and planning).
  • You are involved in the entire evaluation cycle of the subjects in question: setting exams (or other interim evaluations), logistics, supervision, grading and the review and feedback moments.
  • You are part of a team of study coaches who, in addition to providing subject-specific and learning process guidance, also give first-line advice to students in making informed choices during their academic career.
  • You will be an easily accessible first point of contact for (first-year) students with questions outside the subject matter or learning process domain (psychosocial, administrative, international office, student facilities, etc.), and who require a warm, efficient and targeted referral.
  • You will actively participate in training courses and initiatives related to educational innovation, educational technology and orientation, reception, activation and guidance of students.

Profile

We are looking for someone who knows how to combine the right qualities. Can you check off most of the items on our checklist? Then there is a match between you and our student staff department. We are looking for someone:
  • with strong analytical skills and extensive professional knowledge; you therefore preferably have a master's degree in economics, business economics, or business administration, a master's degree in business engineering or a master's degree in business and information systems engineering.
  • with a clear interest in education.
  • who is patient and student-oriented: you can motivate students to develop a good study attitude and study method.
  • who can work well in a team.
  • who is proactive and likes to take initiative, and wants to apply this in organizing and offering a stimulating learning environment.
  • who communicates easily in English and has an eye for the specific situation of the large group of international students on the Brussels campus.

Offer

Your qualities are matched by an attractive offer:
  • a full-time position for a fixed period of one year (September 1, 2025 - August 31, 2026), renewable up to a maximum of five years. The exact start and end date are yet to be determined in mutual consultation.
  • a salary based on pay scale 43 (teaching assistant).
