The Finance Research Group at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of the KU Leuven is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to strengthen its research team.
The Finance Research Group is a research group of about 40 researchers (professors, postdoctoral researchers and doctoral students) spread over three campuses: Leuven, Antwerp and Brussels. Research at the finance group is empirical as well as theoretical and centered around three spearheads: empirical corporate finance, banking, and capital markets.

Responsibilities

Research:

You conduct high-quality research in finance (any field). You are expected to develop your own research agenda while actively collaborating with faculty members and PhD students to contribute to the Finance Research Group’s scholarly output. You aim to publish in top-tier international journals in finance or related disciplines and engage in academic dissemination through presentations at leading conferences, participation in research seminars, and contributions to research funding applications.

Teaching:

You contribute to the teaching at the department with a teaching load of up to 6ECTS (i.e., one course), the supervision of master’s theses as well as the support of other teaching at the department. All teaching linked to this position is in English.

Profile

You have a doctoral degree in finance; or you are defending your doctorate in the near future (defense preferably before October 1, 2025).
You have research experience on topics linked to the research focus of the Finance Research Group. You have scientific output to support this (e.g. conference presentations, work in progress, publications in scientific journals).
You have very good English skills, both spoken and written, can write well and have an analytical and critical mind.
You are collegial and have a proactive, autonomous work attitude and a penchant for scientific research.
Teaching experience is a plus.

Offer

A full-time appointment as a post-doctoral assistant in a stimulating work environment for a period of 1 year, renewable for 1 year.
Salary according to scale 44.
Start date preferably 1/9/2025, but negotiable.
The main place of work is Leuven.
