The Electrical Energy Laboratory (EELAB) at UGent received a research fund from FWO (Fonds voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek, Flanders),) for research Project “Computational efficient multiphysics-based topology design of high-performance electric machines employing additive manufacturing”.
This project aims at developing smart parameterized multiphysics models for the electric machines. As a PhD student, you will contribute to the development of high-fidelity free-form parameterization models for modeling electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical properties of electric machines especially, a permanent magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance machine. This work is very close collaboration with a second PhD student who will work about data-efficient topology optimization of electric machines.
Ghent University offers an attractive salary with additional benefits, a positive and inspiring working environment and training possibilities. You will work at the Electrical Energy Laboratory in the Tech Lane Ghent Science Park in Zwijnaarde.
