Job description

The postdoctoral fellows will, for two years, work collaboratively on a project focused on studying the transport processes of polymer and colloidal systems in entangled cellulose fibre networks at different concentrations. The goal is to increase our knowledge to facilitate and optimise industrial processes. To achieve this, research will focus on macromolecular mechanisms controlling the interaction between cellulose fibres and selected polymer systems. One of the postdoctoral positions is experimental, including laboratory work using the infrastructure at the department and will pursue the use of advanced characterisation techniques using large-scale synchrotron and neutron facilities. Specifically, measurements will be performed at the MAX IV and PETRA III synchrotrons in Lund and Hamburg, respectively. The other position is theoretical and will use numerical coarse grain modelling tools to simulate the experimental work, including using these tools to analyse experimental data from the advanced characterisation techniques. The acquired knowledge from this project will be implemented in dedicated experiments targeting industrial implementation.

What we offer

  • A position at a leading technical university that generates knowledge and skills for a sustainable future
  • Engaged and ambitious colleagues along with a creative, international and dynamic working environment
  • Work in Stockholm, in close proximity to nature
  • Help to relocate and be settled in Sweden and at KTH
