YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Piezo M(O)EMS group specializes in advanced microsystems and disruptive nano-microtechnologies in the direction of emerging applications in various growing industries such as aerospace, medical or automotive.
The project goal is the development of next generation MOEMS scanning micromirrors based on advanced piezoelectric materials.
Your tasks will include:
- Work in an industrial cooperation project to develop high-end piezoelectric MOEMS scanning micromirrors for various applications.
- Microfabrication of MOEMS devices (process flow development, recipe optimization, metrology).
- Piezoelectric thin film development beyond state-of-the-art: deposition and material characterization.
- Design and simulations in cooperation with industrial partners.
- Characterization of fabricated devices (electrical, mechanical, material properties): temperature, humidity, pressure, gas atmosphere.
- System integration and testing.
- Literature reviews, grant applications, report writing, technical presentations and conference attendance.
YOUR PROFILE
- Master’s degree in micro- or nanotechnology, microengineering, materials or similar (not limited to these fields if you are a quick learner).
- Basic knowledge of MEMS, microfabrication, piezoelectric materials.
- Highly desirable: Design and FEM simulations of MMEMS-based devices.
- Hands on cleanroom experience is a plus.
- High degree of hands-on ability and proven experimental skills.
- Advanced proficiency of both written and spoken English.
- Candidates with project experience or publication in the related fields are preferred.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) in occupational group E. For this position we offer a salary of EUR 3.274 ( paid 14 times a year).
